Als Opener sicher gut gewählt, doch relativ catchy. Zwar nicht das, was man von ihr erwarten würde, aber das war schon bei "Shake It Off" klar dass man bei "1989" kein Country erwarten sollte. Starke 4+*, für eine bessere Bewertung fehlt mir noch einiges an dem Song. |

This one's earned a bit of flak for it's generic lyrics which are not acceptable for New York songs, it's true the geographic aspect is a bit tacked-on but the rest of song is pretty good. Like the parts which remind me of 'You Belong With Me' in a way that's not so much rehashing ideas as it is finding new ways to use motifs |

I mean, this sort of felt like a step too far, with the awkward chorus making it sound more like a Katy Perry song or something. Like that though, you can tell there's been a lot of work in producing it to make it pop out, and in that instance it works, but otherwise it's not one I'm too keen on. 3.2 |

I suppose that it sticks true to the line "the lights are so bright but they never blind me" since it really is quite bright production-wise, though her vocals stay on point throughout. Just a really fun effort and a great album opener. |

Ein klasse Opener für ein grandioses Album!<br>Dieser Song ist wohl ein guter Soundtrack und eine Liebes-Hymne an New York City. Man kann die weite schon spüren.<br>Toller Track. Hätte auch eine wunderbare Single abgegeben. Habe da schon ein passendes Musikvideo das natürlich in New York spielt vor Augen. |
