**** Many artists peak with their debut, however with SS this was not the case. In fact, their debut, Sacred Heart, was probably their worst. Not only does it have its share of filler ('Electric Moon', 'Twist the Knife', 'Heaven Is In Your Arms'), but there is a lot of inconsistency. Is it produced '80s pop? Or is it rock? And is it Siobhan's solo project, or is it officially a duo yet?

It's caught between these two things, but in a way it serves as a bridge between Bananarama and the true Shakespears Sister that the project would evolve into.

Of course, it's not a terrible album. 'Heroine', 'Sacred Heart', 'Red Rocket', 'Break My Heart', and 'You Made Me Come to This' are all fantastic. For an intro to Shakespears Sister, I'd get this last. Last edited: 04.02.2013 00:19 |
