I'm conflicted at how to score this. It's definitely a 3.5 for me but I'm not sure which way it leans. On one hand this isn't typically my genre, but I don't mind a challenge. And then typical of me, I get enjoyment in weird ways from hearing this album. However I think I'm going to lean it to a 3 because from hearing later material, I know now that they're capable of better, and I can't excuse their frequent lack of coherent melody with Oli yelling incomprehensible lyrics.

One of the worst #1 albums ever, only two tracks i could stand, the rest just sounded the same too me, glad it dropped out quick, it's quite horrible...

Very nice album. Quite lucky to get a number 1 album in Australia! Hands down!

Metalcore at #1?
3,600 units in its first week, and BMTH has the number one album in Australia. Just shows how dramatically album sales have dropped and now we are seeing a few more metal bands climb the summit like the Amity Affliction and Parkway Drive. But they are Australian bands, well known throughout Triple J.
